East side of Glacier National Park to Great Falls — 4+ hours
Last day of travel.
We headed toward Great Falls and our plane home via the Road to the Sun. It passes through the entire park, up the mountain, though a stunning pass and then descends to glacial blue lakes. It a two-lane road with lots of switchbacks, so the going can be slow. We took our last hike near St. Mary's Falls.

Tips:
If you see a bathroom with no line, go!
If you see a parking spot anywhere near something you want to see, grab it!
Vehicles and trailers over 21 feet cannot traverse this pass.
But a Malibu can.
Last stop, Great Falls.
We didn't know what to expect and we didn't see much. We stayed at the Hotel Arvon, a nice little place that has been around since the gold rush. The attached Celtic Cowboy pub.  Not bad! Had some bangers and mash and watched some football.

Great Falls is famous for being a place that held up Lewis and Clark for over a month as they portaged around the waterfalls. If you haven't seen the Ken Burns documentary on their expedition, you should.
Thanks for riding along with us. We hope you enjoyed a little taste of the wild west!
