Glasson to Dublin Airport 120 KM, 1.5 Hours (Highway driving with city traffic)
We left early to get to the airport, turn in our car, and spend the last few euros we had on some crisps. (See, I speak Irish.) An important note: you clear customs and immigration in Dublin, so you don’t have to do it when you get back to the U.S. It can add some waiting and lines at the airport, so leave plenty of time!

Last Thoughts
Ireland was wonderful. Yes, the driving was hair-raising at times, and we would have liked a bit more sun, but it’s absolutely beautiful — think of a vast, endlessly scenic Vermont or New Hampshire, just ten times greener. The people are as friendly as advertised, though many of those working in hotels, restaurants, and pubs are from Eastern Europe or elsewhere. Locals told us it’s hard to find Irish workers for hospitality jobs — too bad, because I want that Irish accent every time I check in.
We saw this piece in a restaurant — pretty great advice! See you next trip!
