We opted to drive. Honestly, we really didn't know what we were getting ourselves into. We arrived on the eve of a storm called Amy that soaked Ireland with rain and carried winds that blew us off our feet. More about the roads later — but driving on the left side is the least of it. We tried to plan to drive no more than 2.5-3 hours a day. We stopped here and there and took pictures The total mileage was about 738 miles over 8 days, not including some side trips.
We took a ferry between Dingle and Doolin. Mapquest wouldn't show it so the pink line is our route.
