On the advice of Jack from the Meadow Creek Lodge, we decided to take a long dirt road up to Polebridge. It's a somewhat remote part of the park where you have to navigate along rutted dirt roads more suited to a 4 Runner than a Chevy Malibu. We made it and didn't hit a moose.
It's rugged and wild. up there. We hiked around a lake where we actually felt like we might need our bear spray.

On the way out we wandered into one of the highlights of our trip — The Northern Lights Saloon. You can just imagine a posse sauntering in with spurs jingling. There's a bar you just have to lean up against and, strangely, a pretty good Cuban sandwich on the menu. This place is a must-visit. They have cabins and concerts in the summer. Hoping to make it back up there soon.

We made our way back down the dirt roads and into the main part of Glacier National Park. We found our way to the Road to the Sun and capped off the day with a 12-mile round-trip hike to a waterfall. Honestly, it was somewhat unintentional but, hey, we get to say we did a 12-mile hike
