Yellowstone lives up to the hype. It is absolutely beautiful, and in so many different ways.  
The park is huge — much bigger than I ever imagined. It can take an hour or more to get to the locations you want to visit. Our advice: get up early and get to the places you're interested in before the crowds begin to stop in the road to look at rabbits and squirrels. There are lots of humans here.

One thing you don't see much of out west is litter. People seem to be more connected to the space and nature. It feels clean out here. 
We had overcast skies and some rain. We even some snow in early September.
